After 12 days of jury selection, opening statements, witnesses, closing statements, and judge’s instructions, the jury in the Jordan Miles federal civil rights suit finally entered the deliberation phase at 3pm yesterday, on August 2nd. Watch a video update on yesterday’s closing arguments.
We are waiting for news of the verdict with the Miles family outside the usual courtroom, 3A. Once news that a verdict has been reached is announced, the verdict will be read in courtroom 8A on the 8th floor. The U.S. Courthouse is at 700 Grant Street in downtown Pittsburgh, if you want to come and camp out with us. Photo ID is required to enter the building. We will get an advance notification of when the verdict happens, but possibly only a 15 minute warning.
If the jury is not close to a verdict by 4-5pm, the deliberation will recess and resume on Monday morning.
More news when there is.
