Reconsider bringing the three officers to trial. There are too many cases of abuse of power, and if you believe you would like to bring back the trust and authority to police departments across the country, you need to allow due process instead of appearing to cover up a malicious crime. If the officers are innocent, let it be shown in trial. If they are guilty, let them serve a proper sentence to bring faith back where it belongs, to those who are supposed to be entrusted to protect us. Under no circumstances should any citizen be beaten like this.

Justice for Jordan! There was no bottle found and the neighbor that “called” the police said the police were lying. What else do we need! We know everything is a lie so why is the DA still not doing anything? This world is falling apart, let’s do something to build it back together.

I am so sorry to hear about this.i have lifted your family up immediately in my prayers.Trust & have faith that God will handle this!! I am the wife & mother of 2 sons who were in a similar situation…..only ours was with phila Police….After 1 1/2 yr of battle with the commonwealth of PA to fight criminal charges brought up against my husband and 2 sons we hired super lawyer Dennis Cogan.Five days after hiring Dennis Cogan,all of the charges were all dismissed against my husband and 2 sons…see recent article at http://mobile.philly.com/news/?wss=/philly/news/breaking/&id=200533311

You know what. I kinda feel bad for the chief but as soon as I see the picture above of Jordan reminds me of why I should not. I am betting that he really wanted something done with the officers but his naive butt was coerced into doing nothing.
I sure hope Mr Miles was able to get past this all. Still think of that face often. SMH

It is embarrassing how prejudice and uneducated white american men are. It is even more disgraceful how pathetic our judstice system is. I’m a white person that lacks total respect for our police & that too is pathetic however this is exactly why! Where is the justice? These 3 cops are criminals, a badge does not justify beating on someone esp… 3 physically fit grown men on a teenager. I wish I was a juror in this case. These 3 men were man enough to beat Jordan but not man enough to admit it. Wow what kind of people do we have serving & protecting? Let’s see: badly beat an ionnocent citizen, lie about it, never apologize or take responsibility for their actions; great qualities, hope I never have a run in w/ these 3 YIKES. Zappala isn’t any better – not finding any wrongful doing yeah perfect example of the good ol boys club. He’s basicly a career politician like the rest of his family.

Under the facts, I can think of only three possible explanations for the failure of the jury to return an honest verdict: 1) The judge can adjust his attitude,the evidence and the jury instructions to get any result desired. 2) The jury is racist. 3) The jury is impossibly stupid.

I feel for Mr. Miles. I was a CAPA student, also a victim of corruption, and have been bamboozled by local police and judges,.. The fact is, Jordan Miles was unarmed, and theres no reason for the severity of the beating the officers did to that man… Its common knowledge that Pittsburgh’s had some of the most brutal police in this nation as long as any average person can remember. I feel fortunate to have never been beaten or attacked to the severe point to which they did to Mr. Miles.
I’m infuriated at the decision not to hold those officers accountable.
Pretty soon, on the street or in the county, the mans just gonna be goin round slappin people tellin folks to “Shut the fuck up!”
THINGS NEED TO C HANGE. THOSE COPS NEED TO BE PUNISHED FOR THE CRIME THEY COMMITTED.

I am so sorry for the injustice I feel happened in your case. I believe there was no reason to stop Jordan, then to beat him in this case. Either there was paranoia on the police officers side that caused them to react the way they did (without cause) or they have maliciously racial prejudices that allowed them to feel justification toward Jordan. Either way they had no right to treat another human being with the neglected rights that they treated Jordan…..only if he produced a weapon and only if they were in immediate harm could they use the force they used. It was 3 against 1 and they were “trained” officers with weapons. I moved to Pittsburgh 8 years ago having lived in Hawaii, Outside the U.S., and California. The first time I ever heard the N-word expletive in a derogatory manner was when I moved here. While we have come a long way toward respecting each other as people rather than separated by color groups, we still see color instead of integrity, or assume negatively rather that expect positively. I look forward to justice for Jordan and hope that your faith will keep your spirits high and lead you to a positive outcome.
My own grandfather was a retired police detective (in another state) while my uncle was police chief there, I have many members of my family in law enforcement and this case leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I have met law enforcement here that have treated me kindly and I have a deep respect for the job they do, It would sadden me that a few members that failed to live up honorably to the badge would demean the rest of those that share their uniform.

We were at CAPA at the same time and we never really spoke but I know that there is no way he is the type of person police should be targeting. This whole situation disgusts me and I find it depressing how corrupt the system is here.

Can anyone help my father with his case in PA. The Third Circuit Court of Appeals has reversed the Federal Court’s Decision in Scranton, PA to allow my father to file a Wrongful Death Suit for his son and my brother. The problem is no one will take the case because of the errors made by the Federal Judge and the former attorney. Now if my father cannot represent himself (ProSe) (which he cannot) and we cannot find anyone willing to defend our civil rights; can the District Court just dismiss our case. We really need help with this matter. I have a copy of the order and opinion statinbg what happened and why. Please help> 757-855-1577

I can’t believe this is the first I’m hearing about this. Even if this young man was committing a crime, which he obviously wasn’t- this level of force is completely unacceptable. I am appalled, and I truly hope that these three men are held responsible for their actions at some point in their cowardly lives. Three adult men carrying lethal weapons beating on a teenage boy? That is about as cowardly and despicable as you can be.

Hello,
I am from Sanford, Fl. and I want to first thank you all for making this information available to the world; so that we can continue to post and send it further around that world, for the sake of awareness. Here in Sanford we are holding rallies for young Trayvon Martin; who was murdered while minding his own business, just walking home from a store with a can of ice tea and a bag of skittles. The problem with these types of cases, is that we don’t get together enough to fight for the justice that they deserve. At times, we give up the fight in the face of racism, and in the face of lies that seem to overcome the situation or overwhelm us. Sanford PD has a history of really doing nothing when it comes to the death of a black man or woman. They also, cover things up and justify murders that even anyone can see, are unjustifiable. I will stand in support of you in this case. It is tragedy how this sort of thing is still going on in 2012. Keep fighting, stay strong.
